Almas is an independent Iranian feature film written, directed, and produced by Pouria Mojahidi. Four strangers are lured to a café under the pretence of planning a major heist, but as their hidden motives surface, trust dissolves and the atmosphere grows thick with suspense and uncertainty.
Far more than a crime thriller, Almas is a dialogue-driven, symbol-rich exploration of ambition, deception, and the unpredictable consequences of human choices. The director, who is visually impaired, drew on years of studying Iranian and world cinema to craft a layered, metaphor-laden visual language.
